Abstract:

Schelling's treatise published in 1809 under the title of Philosophischen Untersuchungen über das Wesen der menschlichen Freiheit (Philosophical Investigations concerning the Essence of Human Freedom) is only apparently a system of practical philosophy that differs from his earlier systems of philosophy of nature and of identity. This article aims to demonstrate the proximity between these systems, based on the recognition of three theses of philosophy of nature that based Schelling's philosophy of freedom: 1) on the originally unity of mind and nature; 2) on the dual principles within nature; 3) on the possibility of freedom in nature.
