A palavra como arma: metáforas de guerra na conceptualização do antagonismo verbal

Apoiando-se na Teoria da Metáfora Conceptual (TMC), que se insere na área da Linguística Cognitiva, este artigo tem como objetivo investigar a natureza dos mapeamentos cognitivos, e seus efeitos de sentido, que são projetados do domínio-fonte GUERRA para diferentes domínios-alvo. Exploraremos, a partir da análise de 10 memes da internet, o modo com que elementos do frame GUERRA, como domínio-fonte, é projetado (mapeados) em domínios-alvo que dizem respeito a formas de antagonismo verbal e sua “arma” principal: a palavra. Os conceitos de mapeamento (FAUCONNIER, 1997), metáfora conceptual (LAKOFF; JOHNSON (1980 [2002]) e metáfora situada (VEREZA, 2013) representam a base teórico-metodológica da discussão empreendida a partir do corpus. A análise, além de corroborar o postulado da corporeidade que está no cerne da linguística cognitiva, revelou, mais especificamente, como a metáfora conceptual PALAVRA É ARMA licencia uma série de mapeamentos online (metáforas situadas) que evidenciam a ubiquidade da conceptualização bélica de PALAVRA e seus efeitos subjetivos.
