Manuscripts submitted from July 2021 onwards will be subjected to Scielo’ s article processing charge upon publication acceptance
We hereby communicate to our community that from July 2021 onwards, we will begin article’s processing charge (APC) for those manuscripts accepted for publication. The fee shall be paid directly to Scielo once the manuscript has been subjected to peer-reviewing and has been accepted for publication, thus the final publication will be bound to the fee’s payment. We highlight that those manuscripts submitted before 30/06/2021 will continue under the journal’s original workflow and those eventually accepted for publication that has been submitted until that date won’t incur in any cost.
Yet we assure you that our APC fees will be exclusively applied to fund our publication’s expenses and thereby there won’t be any financial profit to the journal, which remains with non-profit objectives though self-sustainable. We reinforce our commitment with high quality and open access content and inform you that switching part of our administrative workflow to Scielo will offer a faster article processing thus delivering the scientific knowledge to the public more efficiently.
