The Asian Presence in Brazil between the XIX and XX Centuries: “The Chinese Issue” and the Construction of the Brazilian National Identity

Abstract
This paperdiscusses the theories of migratory movements with emphasis on Chinese mobilities by historical and spatial analyzes are discussed. The emigration and immigration of the internal historical processes in China that culminated in the analysis of the synic diaspora will be addressed. I will try to understand and highlight that the Chinese diaspora has peculiar characteristics, as it maintains economic and identity ties with China. I also present a bibliographic review of the historical rescue of the debates in the XIX and XX centuries on the admission of foreigners to Brazilian territory, based on the interests of hiring Chinese as a labor force in the fields and in the construction of the Brazilian national identity that was known as “The Chinese Question”.
