Theoretical Model of Analysis of Dropout in Higher Education Applied to Research on Academic Follow-Up of Public Sector Students

The paper aims to develop an analysis on the potentialities of the different analytical models for the deepening of the theoretical and methodological discussions regarding student drop out in higher education. Thus, this paper aims to analyze, through literature review, the peculiarities presented by the evasion research and the main problems that involve the students' probabilities of permanence, which become smaller when we deal with students who do not fit the traditional “profile”: White, of middle class and with availability for exclusive dedication to studies.
