Remodelando exempla: el paradigma del enemigo en el mito del exilio ovidiano

El objetivo de este artículo es discutir la forma en que Ovidio construye paradigmas de crueldad e inclemencia que reemplazarían conocidos exempla, proponiendo aquellos pertenecientes a su exilio como nuevos ejemplos y términos de comparación. En un primer momento, se reflexiona sobre la utilización del tropo de la hipérbole durante el exilio y su repercusión en el recurso de la refutatio exemplorum, mediante la cual Ovidio desestima exempla conocidos para postular instancias de su situación en el exilio como nuevos paradigmas. Después, se analiza la forma en que Ovidio construye a sus enemigos, sean estos sus detractores e inclusive el propio Augusto, como más crueles e inclementes que cualquier otro. Para esto, se hará foco en Tr. 3.11. 39-54, 5.1.53-54, 5.12.47-48, Pont. 2.9.44 y 3.5.42, pasajes a partir de los cuales serán analizadas las figuras de Busiris, Falaris y Perilo como exempla de crueldad e inclemencia. Por último, como conclusión, reflexiono sobre la utilidad de los exempla, que, lejos de ser ineficaces como modelos, ofrecen como consecuencia teórica la oportunidad de manipular la tradición literaria anterior por medio de las comparaciones y refutationes. En consecuencia, Ovidio se propone a sí mismo, y a su situación, como autoridad.
