Abstract

This article presents an overview of my Master research, which focuses on the Art of Rhetoric by Consultus Fortunatianus, a handbook composed in Latin, probably in the fourth century AD. The research is divided into two parts: the first comprises a study of the authorship, dating and partition of the work, and another a study of the doctrine set forth in this and in particular on four points of doctrine which attract the attention of specialized critics for being somehow, particular to this work; the second part includes the annotated translation of the work.
