Abstract

This paper discusses Pericles' Funeral Oration, in which there is an eulogy of Athens and the Athenians, in opposition to the narration of the plague and its effects on the inter-individual relationships and the structure of the polis, both in the book II of Thucydides' Peloponesian War.
