In this work, I address some aspects of Aristotle's polemic against the opponents of the principle of non-contradiction. Given the antagonistic position towards the theories of Aristotle ascribed to Protagoras, I examine the arguments presented by the Stagirite in chapters 5 and 6 of Book Γ of Metaphysics, embedded in a context that places the non-contradiction as a foundation or first principle of the science of being qua being.
