Here we present a new translation of the satirical text by Seneca (4 BC – 65 AD), Apocolocyntosis Diui Claudii, translated by us into Portuguese with the title of Pumpkinification of the Divine Claudius. In order to clarify our purposes, we bring some introductory information about the life of the author and his work (especially about the text translated here). We also specify the criteria followed by our translation and the objectives aimed by our translation through them.
