Refere a
Teach as art / Beuys e Bem Além.

Abstract

In the article, the author analyzes the profound transformations that art and the artist’s status have undergone since World War II, taking the work of Joseph Beuys as the main driving force. From understanding art as an emancipatory form of education, the author points out as a characteristic of the art of that period the growing engagement of artists in pedagogical, critical-theoretical activities and in ongoing social transformations, implying the problem of their own participation and that of the public. The author discusses the contribution of other artists to this expansion of the concept and practices related to art, including Brazilian artists from Neo-concretism, such as Lygia Pape, Lygia Clark, Hélio Oiticica, and from other countries, such as Allan Kaprow and Robert Filliou. Art as an expansion, 2011, unpublished. Written on the occasion of the tour in Brazil of the Beuys exhibition and well beyond. Teaching as art, held from September 12 to October 30, 2011, at Instituto Tomie Ohtake, in São Paulo. The traveling exhibition that started in Frankfurt was to have a new catalog organized by Deutsche Bank, but in the end remained unpublished.
