Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present the results of a study of interurban air travel in Brazil. The work was developed by looking for the principal factors that influence the number of passengers who travel between a specified pair of cities in a particular period of time. The results revealed that the volume of passengers is strongly related to city size and tenuosly related to income, distance and population occupation. Finally, the results revealed also that although all variable influence air passenger potential,the relative Importance of each variable differs from city to city.
