The first lizaird fossil ever found in the Santana Formation (Araripe Basin, Lower Cretaceous) shows among other characteristics, impressions of skin and preserved scales, that support the diagnosis of the fossil taxon. An initial comparative analysis of the skin impressions and scales morphology with contemporary Laccrtilia. demonstrated a level of similarity among this fossil and the Teiidae family. In this study is described this new genus and specie - Tijubina pontei.Downloads
