Empowering Local Farmers: Social Interactions and Actor Relationship Models in Agricultural Productivity Enhancement in Madura

This research aims to explore, analyze and describe the social interactions of local farmer empowerment and the actor relationship model between field extension officers and farming communities in Rubaru subdistrict, Sumenep district, Madura, in an effort to increase agricultural productivity. This research particularly highlights social interactions in community-based sustainable development, the relationship map in community-based sustainable development, and the actor relationship model in improving local farmers' productivity. Applying the theories of community empowerment, social interaction, knowledge construction, and community awareness, as well as qualitative research methods, this research involved 13 informants from various backgrounds for in depth interviews, focus group discussions, and observations. The research findings emphasize the importance of knowledge transfer in accordance with local wisdom values, social communication based on local wisdom and patron kyai, as well as the construction of knowledge and behavior that encourages community-based change. The theoretical and practical implications of this research include contextualization of local knowledge, promotion of social communication, integration of experience and empowerment of farmers, as well as increasing agricultural productivity through participatory approaches and community cooperation networks
