Resumo



Abstract

Taking what is claimed on the Cartesian entries of the Encyclopédie as a kind of mirror in which the many trends of the French thought in the 17th. Century are reflected, the author's concern in this article is to understand the place Cartesian philosophy would come to occupy in the tradition of enlightenment since, according to the Encyclopédie, this philosophy can not be followed in all its aspects although it is the work of a sublime genius and of a very consequent philosopher.
