A relação entre as formas de amizade segundo Aristóteles

Resumo

Tanto a Ética a Nicômaco quanto a Ética a Eudemo discutem detalhadamente a amizade e ambas reconhecem três tipos de amizade, o que faz surgir em ambas o problema de explicar como esses diferentes tipos de amizade estão relacionados uns com os outros. Figurando como uma das principais diferenças entre os dois tratados éticos aristotélicos, a Ética a Eudemo responde a questão introduzindo a análise pros hen, enquanto a Ética a Nicômaco explica sua noção através da noção de semelhança. Tais respostas diferentes, então, incitam uma nova questão - a de determinar o significado preciso dessa mudança: ela deve ser vista como uma renovação do platonismo, ou como um signo da inautenticidade da Ética a Eudemo, ou antes como indicação da rota que o neoplatonismo tomou, assimilando a análise focal à noção de semelhança?

Abstract

Both the Nichomachean and the Eudemian Ethics discuss friendship in detail and both recognize three kinds os friendship, which brings about in both of them the problem of explaining how these differents kinds os friendship are related one another. As one of the major differences between the two Aristotelian ethical treatises, the Eudemian Ethics answers the question by introducing the analysis of pros hen, while the Nicomachean Ethics explains their being connected through the notion of likeness. such different answers, then, bring forth a new question - that of determining the precise meaning of this change: should it be viewed as a renewal of platonism, or as a signal of the inautenticity of the Eudemian Ethics, or rather as one pointing to the route which neoplatonism took, assimilating the focal analysis into the notion of likeness?
