Do evidente ao provável. As modalidades do assentimento segundo Pedro de Ailly
Abstract
Abstract
At the end of the 13th century, we see to appear in the Commentaries of Sentences of Peter Lombard, a debate concernig the epistemological status of faith and its relations to the different kinds of human apprehension. The present article analyses the epistemology developed by Peter of Ailly and shows how this author retakes, in a theological context, the theory of assentment proposed by John Buridan. In fact, Peter of Ailly proposes a more extensive theory concerning the notions of believe and faith and its relation to the assentment.
