O conceito, o conceito do corpo e o corpo em Leibniz

Resumo

De que servem os corpos na metafísica leibniziana, se as almas, sendo absolutamente completas e fechadas dentro de si mesmas, já contêm todos os seus predicados e relações reais e possíveis? Buscando responder a essa questão, tentarei mostrar que, sem os corpos, a diferença no grau e na região de distinção das percepções que compõem a natureza de cada substância individual não seria suficiente para discernirmos essas substâncias umas das outras, já que, uma vez criadas, todas elas, na hipótese de seu aperfeiçoamento permanente, tenderiam a se reduzir a uma só substância indiferenciada.

Abstract

What's the use of bodies in Leibniz's metaphysics, since their souls are absolutely complete and closed, and therefore already contain within themselves all their predicates and relations, both actual and possible? In order to give an answer to this question, I will try to show that, without bodies, the fact that the perceptions which form the nature of each substance present themselves in various degrees and regions of distinction would not be enough for these substances to be discerned from one another once we take into account the hypothesis of their everlasting progress, which would result in all created substances tending to be reduced to one non differentiated substance.
