A heresia oculta de Espinosa. Meditações sobre a morte na Ética

Resumo

O artigo examina as teses sobre a eternidade da mente, enunciadas na Parte V da Ética de Espinosa, a partir de alguns de seus pressupostos, formulados na Proposição 8 da Parte II. O objetivo principal deste artigo é identificar uma assimetria conceitual presente na Proposição 8 que explica as teses sobre a "parte eterna da mente", sem romper com o "paralelismo". As relações entre mente e corpo e entre essência e existência serão o fio condutor desta interpretação do texto.

Abstract

This paper examines the thesis on the eternity of the mind, exposed in Part V of Spinoza's Ethics, from the perspective of some of its presuppositions formulated in Proposition 8 of Part II. The main purpose of this paper is to identify a conceptual asymmetry in Proposition 8 that explains the theses on the "eternal part of the mind", while keeping intact "parallelism". The relations between mind and body and between essence and existence will be the guiding lines of this interpretation of the text.
