A INSERÇÃO DE VOZES SILENCIADAS EM ROMANCES DE ESCRITORAS CONTEMPORÂNEAS DE ORIGEM CARIBENHA
Resumo
A produção de escritoras contemporâneas de origem caribenha fomenta significativamente a audição de vozes abafadas pelo poder etnocêntrico. A dominicano-americana Nelly Rosario e haitiano-americana Edwidge Danticat são exemplos de escritoras que contribuem para a inserção dessas vozes. Este artigo discute Song of the Water Saints, de Rosario, e Breath, Eyes, Memory, de Danticat, como espaços de reflexão sobre questões relacionadas à dominação em diversos níveis e à criação de imagens distorcidas de grupos ou povos. Tais obras podem ainda instigar uma reavaliação de si mesmo efetuada pelo dominador e pelo dominado, contribuindo para a desconstrução de estereótipos e fomentando um vigoroso cenário de reflexão sobre o tema.Referências
