Art and its ethical, political and aesthetic dimensions in a time of emergencies

Resumo

Este ensaio baseia-se no compartilhamento de experiências e ações realizadas em projetos desenvolvidos pela plataforma Territórios Sensíveis, para que, à luz dessas experiências, possamos discutir conceitos como conhecimento corporificado e as relações emergentes entre corpo/território/tempo. Analisamos, ainda, a forma como as artes podem contribuir para as discussões e ações em torno das questões ambientais a partir de “formas” ético-políticas de fazer arte, e pontuamos as formas pelas quais as dimensões micropolíticas e imaginárias
podem ser reforçadas ou restauradas frente às atuais crises globais.

Abstract

This essay is based on the sharing of experiences and actions carried out in projects developed by the Territórios Sensíveis (Sensitive Territories) platform, so that in light of these experiences we can discuss concepts such as: embodied knowledge, socially and environmentally engaged artistic practice and the emerging relationships between body/territory/time. We also analyze how the arts can contribute to the discussions and actions around environmental issues from ethical-political “ways” of making art, and we point out the ways in which
the micropolitical and imaginary dimensions can be reinforced or restored in face of the current global crises.
