A DIVISÃO SETORIAL DO TRABALHO E A PRODUTIVIDADE DO COMPLEXO METALMECÂNICO BRASILEIRO // SECTORAL DIVISION OF LABOUR AND THE PRODUCTIVITY OF THE MACHINE TOOL INDUSTRY

Resumo

RESUMO: O presente artigo tratou da expansão da metodologia de Furtuoso e Guilhoto de delimitação de complexos industriais, aplicando-a ao complexo metalmecânico da economia brasileira. Lidando com informações originais da matriz de insumo-produto de 1996 e com sua atualização a partir do Sistema de Contas Nacionais para 2002, procurou-se quantificar a importância do complexo com relação ao valor adicionado (produto) e ao emprego. Em particular, foram investigadas as consequências da divisão setorial do trabalho do sistema tanto sobre a própria delimitação do complexo quanto para a produtividade da mão-de-obra.

ABSTRACT: This article was aimed at expanding the Furtuoso and Guilhoto methodology of delimiting industrial clusters, using it to determine the extension of the machinery industry. Dealing with the original information of the Brazilian input-output matrix of 1996 and its updating based on the System of National Accounts of 2002, an attempt was made to appraise the importance of this particular cluster as regards the creation of value-added (net output) and employment. Specifically, a number of consequences of the sectoral division of labour of the system were considered both as a device to delimit the boundaries of the cluster and to analyse the productivity of labour.
