Author Guidelines

STANDARDS FOR ARTICLES

SOCIETY, ACCOUNTING AND MANAGEMENT JOURNAL

  1. The articles must be unpublished and must not be undergoing evaluation in another national or international journal. Articles published in Annals of Events will be considered unpublished for publication in the SCG Journal. However, in this case, the authors must inform the name of the event and the year of publication of the article in the letter to the editor.
  2. The articles will undergo analysis with anti-plagiarism software during editorial stages.
  3. Articles in Portuguese, English, or Spanish will be accepted
  4. Articles must have, in general terms, the following structure: introduction, theoretical foundation, methodology, results, conclusions, references, and annexes and appendices.
  5. The details of the entire editorial process are described in the Editorial Process Manual, available on the journal's website.
  6. The submission must be made through the following electronic address: https://revistas.ufrj.br/index.php/scg
  7. Authors must send three files: the first with the full text of the article without any identification (including in the document properties); the second, a cover letter with the authors' information; and the third, a letter to the editor, presenting the article and describing reasons for the SCG Journal to publish it. The first file (file 01) must be sent as the main document and the second (file 02) and the third (file 03) as supplementary documents.
  8. The full text of the article (file 01) must comply with the following guidelines:
    • 8.1.   Articles in Portuguese or Spanish must include title, abstract and keywords also in English.
    • 8.2.   Articles written in English must include title, abstract and keywords also in Portuguese.
    • 8.3.   The abstract must be between 200 and 300 words.
    • 8.4.   Formatting guidelines:
      • 8.4.1. The font should be Times 12 and have up to 12,000 words, including illustrations, references, endnotes, annexes and appendices.
      • 8.4.2. A4 paper with margins: top and left = 3 cm - bottom and right = 2 cm.
      • 8.4.3. Single spacing (between characters, words and lines), justified and with a 1.25 cm indent on the first line of each paragraph.
      • 8.4.4. Citations, charts, tables, figures, and references at the end of the text must follow the APA Format. A manual with guidelines is provisionally available here
  9. In the second file (file 02), after the title, the authors' information must appear: name, title (including training institution), position and institutional affiliation, full address and email. Each article can only have up to 4 authors.
  10. In the letter to the editor (file 03) the authors must suggest the research area in which their submission should be framed. However, authors should be aware that this definition is ultimately up to the editor. The research areas can be provisionally consulted here.
The SCG Journal does not charge any fee for the submission or editing of articles.
