Donald Trump e a América Latina: desconstruindo a ordem liberal?

Resumo

A literatura sobre Política Externa dos EUA identificou que o governo Trump se destacava por suas posições iliberais frente à ordem internacional. Contudo, a retórica de defesa da democracia se manteve na América Latina. Considerando este contexto, o presente artigo parte dos seguintes questionamentos: a política exterior para a América Latina, durante o governo Trump, promoveu uma desconstrução da ordem liberal? Até que ponto se trata de um rompimento com a tradição estadunidense? O artigo foi dividido em três partes: inicialmente, as relações entre os EUA e a ordem liberal são debatidas, posteriormente são apresentadas as características da política para a América Latina e, por fim, o caso da Venezuela é analisado. A pesquisa foi realizada através da discussão da bibliografia e da análise textual de documentos oficiais e discursos de autoridades estadunidenses.

Doutora e mestre em Relações Internacionais pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Relações Internacionais San Tiago Dantas -UNESP,UNICAMP, PUC-SP, onde atualmente realiza pesquisa de Pós-Doutorado. Bacharela pela Universidade Estadual Paulista - UNESP. Realizou pesquisa na Georgetown University em Washington, D.C, com apoio da FAPESP, entre setembro de 2018 e maio de 2019. Atuou como Professora Substituta na Universidade Federal de Sergipe (UFS), entre 2019 e 2020, e na Unesp - Campus de Franca, em 2017. É vinculada ao Grupo de Estudos em Defesa e Segurança Internacional (GEDES/UNESP) ao Instituto Nacional de Ciência e Tecnologia de Estudos sobre os Estados Unidos (INCT-INEU)
