HISTÓRIA E MEMÓRIA DO ESPORTE EM JEQUIÉ

Resumo

Resumo O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a história e a memória do esporte em Jequié, Bahia, Brasil. Foram utilizados como fontes documentos do Museu Municipal, do Jequié Tênis Clube (JTC), além de entrevistas com esportistas e familiares. O desenvolvimento do esporte em Jequié esteve articulada a transformações que afetavam toda a região em princípios do século 20. Resultado de fluxos multidirecionais intermediados simultaneamente por diferentes grupos sociais, a história do JTC foi elevada por parte da elite local à condição de representante privilegiada de uma modernidade sertaneja. Abstract History and memory of sports in Jequié (Bahia, Brazil) The aim of this study was to analyze the history and memory of the sports in Jequié, Bahia, Brazil. The main sources was documents from Municipal Museum and Jequié Tennis Club (JTC), and interviews with athletes and their family members. The rise of sports in Jequié linked itself with many transformations happening in the region since the early 20th century. Product from multidirectional ways, brokered simultaneous by different social groups, the history of JTC was portrayed by part of local elite as privileged representative of the modernity those region.
