Este artigo pretende apresentar uma análise da loteria popular conhecida como “jogo do bicho”. Pretendendo discutir distintos aspectos que mostram como uma prática lúdica e tradicional de lazer popular passa a dotar aspectos empresarias e econômicos em sua macroestrutura. Contrapondo com a visão reguladora de crime, vício e danação que o insere em uma prática posta na ilegalidade. Assim este artigo busca apresentar traços que constroem esta fronteira difusa e que definem a legalidade nas práticas de jogo. Por outro lado discute como, mesmo ilegal, detém legitimidade social com lideranças locais financiando o Carnaval carioca.

Abstract

Draw of the animal: an analysis of a leisure to the outlaw

This article aims to provide an analysis of popular lottery known as "jogo do bicho". Intending to discuss different aspects that show how a playful and traditional practice of popular leisure holds an entrepreneurial and economic aspect in their macrostructure. Contrasting with the regulatory view of the game that inserts this practice into crime, vice and damnation. So this article aims to show traits that build this fuzzy boundary and defining the legality of the practice game. On the other hand discusses how, even illegal, it holds a social legitimacy with local leaders by funding the Rio de Janeiro´s Carnival.
