O ESPORTE PARA TODOS: "POPULARIZAÇÃO" DO LAZER E DA RECREAÇÃO

Resumo

Resumo: Este trabalho pretende investigar as prescrições contidas nos discursos da campanha "Esporte para Todos" (EPT), que surgiu no Brasil, a partir do ano de 1973, eivado por pressupostos filosóficos que propunham a democratização das atividades físicas e desportivas. A implementação do EPT no Brasil deu-se através de grandes influências internacionais, coincidindo também com um período em que a conjuntura nacional apontava para um enfraquecimento do regime militar. O objetivo do EPT era conduzir as condutas da população, disseminando práticas esportivas orientadas para o lazer e a recreação, sendo um movimento que buscou regulamentar uma política de constituição de corpos úteis e obedientes, em que o alarde em torno da espontaneidade e da autonomia engendravam eficientes táticas de controle social.

SPORTS FOR ALL: "POPULARIZATION" OF LEISURE AND RECREATION

Abstract: This article intends to look into the prescriptions found in the discourse of the campaign "Esporte para Todos (Sports for All)" (EPT), which arose in Brazil after 1973, permeated by philosophical premises that proposed the democratization of physical activities and sports. The implementation of EPT was motivated by several international influences. It also coincided with a period in which the national circumstances suggested the military regime decline. The goal of EPT was to conduct the population's behavior, promulgating leisure and recreation-oriented sports practices. This movement aimed to establish a policy directed at the constitution of useful and obedient bodies. At that moment, the ostentation of spontaneity and autonomy was an efficient strategy for social control.
