ESPORTE MODERNO E EDUCAÇÃO BURGUESA: IMAGENS DO CARÁTER ESPORTIVO NO FILME CARRUAGENS DE FOGO

Resumo

Resumo: Este trabalho discute as origens do esporte moderno como projeto educativo de formação e cultivo do caráter do indivíduo burguês. Conduzidos por uma leitura do filme Carruagens de Fogo, faremos uma discussão histórica acerca das imagens e memórias do caráter esportivo nele presentes. A origem, os diálogos e as condutas sociais dos três principais personagens do filme conduzirão nossa leitura com o intuito de proporcionar uma discussão sobre o caráter esportivo por eles assumido ao longo do filme, fazendo-nos refletir, portanto, sobre as memórias do esporte e sua relação com a educação burguesa.

MODERN SPORT AND BOURGEOIS EDUCATION: IMAGES OF THE SPORTS CHARACTER IN THE FILM CHARIOTS OF FIRE

Abstract: This work argues about the origins of modern sport as an educative project of formation and cultivation of the character of the individual bourgeois. Led by an analysis of the film Chariots of Fire, we will make a historical debate concerning the images and memories of the sports character. In this text, we will approach three characters of the film, using their dialogues, significant situations and characteristics with intention of providing a deepened debate on the sports character assumed by them throughout the story, bringing us to a reflexion on the appropriation and use of the sport and its relation with the bourgeois education.
