Elementos para a compreensão de Línguas Crioulas e Pidgins: conceitos e hipóteses

Resumo: este artigo promove reunião de elementos teóricos fundamentais para a compreensão e o estudo das Línguas Crioulas e Pidgins. Tratam-se de conceitos básicos e de discussões centrais de algumas hipóteses da área da Crioulística, ciência que estuda essas línguas e variedades linguísticas. O objetivo é organizar um panorama da literatura e dos debates clássicos para, a partir das perspectivas de grandes obras crioulísticas e à luz das variadas polêmicas existentes no bojo dessa disciplina, compor repertório capaz de oferecer uma revisão a quem atua na área ou nela esteja ingressando e de apresentar um norte a quem pretenda conhecer esse consolidado campo dos estudos linguísticos. As referências encontram-se em Coelho (1880), Bickerton (1981), Mühlhäusler (1986), Couto (1996), Lang (1999), Mufwene (2001) dentre outros.
