Abstract

In late modernity, art/social movements – namely ecofeminism – have played key roles in unravelling the world. On the other hand, the shift of paradigms and the need to remodel societal processes to embrace the new have delegated to the social sciences, especially to art, the responsibility of formulating keys to understanding the challenges that modernity has presented. In the Brazilian city of Fortaleza, the (eco)feminist fanzinemaker Fernanda Meireles has addressed theoretical but also pragmatic views in order to redefine spaces in new territorialities, giving rise to new ways of relating to the city, framing, in her work concepts such as ecofeminism, Anthropocene and resistance, thus enabling the affirmation of fanzines as an element of individual and collective identity expression.
