Abstract

The artist Maxwell Alexandre opened in 2023, the exhibition Novo Poder: Passabilidade, in Madrid and in Rio de Janeiro. For 16 days, the two exhibitions coexisted on two different continents. Based on this “simultaneous event” between the La Casa Encendida Cultural Center and the 1st Maxwell Alexandre Pavilion, this article aims to identify and analyze the agencies and sensitive operations articulated for the composition of the exhibition space. The methodology was structured based on the researcher’s body in laboratory at the exhibition. In the experiences on site, pictures were taken and, an as-built floor plan was drawn. In parallel, a survey of interviews with the artist was carried out, to which was added a broad interdisciplinary bibliographic review. The results point to the understanding of the creation of the 1st Pavilion as an agency of a territory construction that swirled and transubstantiated the exhibition space and the bodies that inhabited.
