Abstract

The audiovisual production of the collective Los Ingrávidos presents an exceptional syncretic character in the contemporary experimental film scene, establishing connections between political activism, the legacy of 20th-century avant-gardes, and the artistic exploration of new media forms. This essay aims to explore one of the fundamental features of their poetics: an expanded percussiveness between visual and sound images, as a decisive energetic element of their trance aesthetics. Through the analysis of various pieces from their highly prolific production, spanning from the early stages of their journey to recent moments in their work, the percussive character is proposed as a structuring principle, not only in their approach to the world and images, but also in their modes of engagement with audiences.
