Abstract

The mediation as an artistic practice is an educational practice of collective encounter. Libraries are growing organizations and are social spaces for building knowledge among the most diverse people. The aim of this article was to understand cultural mediation in libraries as an artistic practice and the role of the artist as librarian. The methods used were bibliographical surveys and a report of an experience lived in the construction of the space for mediation in a library that existed in the Ipiranga neighborhood, São Paulo, between the years 2022 and 2024, and was part of a post-doctoral academic experience.

Author Biography

Fernanda Moraes Grigolin, University of São Paulo

She is an artist, researcher, and professor. She holds a master's and doctorate in Visual Arts from Unicamp. She works in the field of cultural mediation and feminism studies. She is a researcher at PPGLetra - FFLCH-USP.
