Transporte Aéreo e o Efeito de Sombra: Uma Analise Preliminar

Abstract

This paper is an attempt to ascertain some relationships between the distribution of brasilian cities and that of an passenger traffic, from the empirical evidence presented on a series of maps. The effects of some urban characteristics as population size, special urban functions and proximity of other cities are considered, in particular the "traffic-shadow effect" and consequent desappearance of the airports localized within the limits of area submitted to this effect.
