Resumo

This paper is an atternpt to ascertain some relationship between the distribution of brazilian cities and that of an passenger traffic, from theempirical evidence presented on a series of maps. The effects of someurban characteristics as population size, special urban functions and proximity of other cities are considered, in particu1ar the "traffic-shadoweffect" and consequent disappearance of the aiports loca1ized within thelimits of area submitted to this effect.
