The promotion of knowledge for sustainable development is essential to ensure environmental quality for future generations. It is more important because we live in a globalized world where population is growing rapidly. However we live in the paradigm of "disciplinarity" of professionals when nature conservation is increasingly dependent of integration and dissemination of knowledge within and outside the scientific community. The concept of biodiversity have been widely publicized and debated by biologists and environmentalists since 1980. However the geodiversity concept was employed only in 1993 and it is still unknown to most people. This poll was conducted through questionnaires to identify the perception of elementary school students in the city of Andaraí / BA about on a new geosite identified, the Manga do Céu. Its main objective was to analyze how geodiversity is perceived by this public and so it works through environmental education. It was found that this perception is not direct, but linked to issues such as climbing, local history and landscape, suggests that geodiversity highlighted to broaden the perspective of students and nature conservation.Downloads
