Resumo

The Santo Aleixo River, a small water course eroding the oceanic facadeof the Serra do Mar,has its upper and middle sections represented by diagrams. Morpho-metric characteristics of the valley sections are analysed. Correlations are established through non-parametric techniques.The dominance of the fractured local geologic struc-ture upon the drainagepattern is clearly recognized. The importance of the identification of smallinter-mountain basins as controlling subsystems for the local deposition anderosion is emphasized.
