Resumo

This paper aims to present some analytical data concerning the spacial distribution of migrants in the State of Rio de Janeiro, and the participation role of the alloctone elements within each municipality. One aims to understand the pattern based on the computation of the distance from the homeland and also the factors contributing to attract these migrants - the big cormmercial and industrial centers, according to the Ravenstein Laws. A set of variables which express the urbanization and accessibility degrees were analysed by means of the R.M.L.T. Programme in order to test the applicability of the above mentioned laws.
