Poetry and its Openings: Interview with the Poet Marcelo Ariel

Abstract

Marcelo Ariel’s poetry is plural in terms of the themes he deals with and his experience with the poetic word. In this interview, the poet discusses some of these issues, especially in relation to the process of writing poetry, the role of the poet in contemporary society, the status of poetic language and its multiple bonds with identity, Black people’s subjectivity, the publishing market, and the relationship between poetry and teaching.

Sandra Stroparo. Doutora em Teoria Literária pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2012). Atua como professora de Literatura Brasileira e Teoria Literária na Universidade Federal do Paraná desde 1998 e integra o Programa de Pós-Graduação em Letras desde 2013. Possui experiência acadêmica nas áreas de Literatura Brasileira, Literatura Francesa e Tradução.
