Intertidal and shallow infra-littoral samples collected in Rocas Atoll, Rio Grande do Norte State, Brazil, during October 2000, provided material for this study. As a result of this survey, four species of hermit crabs were found and are herein redescribed: Clibanarius antillensis, Calcinus tibicen, Dardanus venosus and Paguristes tortugae. This is the first record of C. tibicen and P. tortugae for the Rocas Atoll.
