New species of Proceratophrys Miranda-Ribeiro, 1920 from Southeastern Brazil (Amphibia, Anura, Leptodactylidae)

Abstract

The description of a new species of the genus Proceratophrys related to P. boiei, from Santa Teresa, State of Espírito Santo, is presented. The new species is distinguished from P. boiei by the presence of parallel and weakly marked frontoparietal crests, with shallow depression between them, narrower head, larger eye, and advertisement calls composed by shorter notes, fewer number of pulses, and higher dominant frequency.
