Abstract

Palynomoph fungals were recovered of the shales and siltstones of the Calumbi Formation, Sergipe Basin, through maceration of sedimentary rocks for palynological studies. Apectodinium homomorphum palynomorph zone and Igorina pusilla planktonic foraminifer zone indicated the late Paleocene age. These rocks were deposited in the outer neritic/upper batial environments as suggested for bentonic foraminifers. Deuteromycetes Class (Fungi Imperfect) is represented by palynomoph fungals of the several groups: Amerosporae (Acremonium, Diporisporites, Inapertisporites, Foveodiporites), Didymosporae (Dicellaesporites, Fusiformisporites), Phragmosporae (Brachysporisporites, Diporicellaesporites, Pluricellaesporites, Diporicellaesporites, Multicellites, Quilonia, Reduviasporonites), Dictyosporae (Dictyosporites, Palambages, Papulosporinites, Ctenosporites), Scolecosporae (Scolecosporites), Helicosporae (Involutisporonites) and Staurosporae (Frasnacritetrus, Tribolites). Ascomycetes Class (Fungi Perfect) is represented by Microthyriales Family (Spinosporonites, Phragmothyrites, Callimothallus genus).
