The first record of Pteronura brasiliensis (Gmelin, 1788) (Carnivora, Mustelidae) from the Pleistocene

Abstract

A brief description of the first Pteronura brasiliensis material found in the Pleistocene sediments was undertaken. The material was found in Curupira cave in the Municipality of Rosário do Oeste, State of Mato Grosso, Brazil. There are now five species of Brazilian mustelids with a fossil occurrence registered in the late Pleistocene.
