Abstract

This paper aims to present the spatial analysis of shellmound IBV4, which employed the shellmound IBV1 intrasite spatial model. Contour maps were applied to the analysis of frequency distribution in the collected sample. The results indicate the presence of three activities: quartz debitage, bones artifacts manufacture, and shellmound construction. Spatial analysis attested a greater investment on vertical mound construction, indicated by the high concentration of archaeological material in the central area. The periphery is characterized as the preferential site for quartz chipping activities.
