Resumen
Abstract
This article aims to show how the new technologies, since the discovery of X-Ray, are assisting the studies and obtainment of informations about Egyptian mummy.
The mummies were always permeating the collective imagination, creating an mystery fascination, wich continues to this days. Egypcians Mummies' studies with the use of radiology made possible the collection of medical, archaeological and anthropological evidence. The X-Ray was discovered in 1895 and made an revolution in medicine and others areas, making viable the visualization inside of bodies without an large intervencion. Science and technology kept to evolve and, after the discovery of Computed Tomography (CT), the research could be more explored. Because of it, some studies already completed could be reviewed, adding more informations, and even agreeing or refuting with collected and presented datas.
Recently, it is possible make a 3D printig, from the 3D scanner and printer development for a better view of a mummy and other objects placed during mummification process. The use of magnetic resonance, DNA and isotopes analysis are an great support in this inquiries as well.
With these considerations, the objective is discuss the importance of new technologies in the Egypcian mummies' studies to comprehend some habits of one of the most important Antiquiry's civilization, wich gifted the humanity with artifacts that have been perpetuated in our history.
