Abstract

The city of Goiás – GO has the biggest urban and architectonic preserved collection in federal level. Composed by isolated constructions and specific urban cuttings by the preservation of 1951, the set was enlarged in 1978 and again in 2004, following the cultural landscape notions. By this time, in 2001, the city was included in the World Heritage List from UNESCO. The set has its major origin in the urban formation of the XVIII century and has vernacular aspects related to its construction techniques and also to its urban structure. This essay looked for an identification of architectonic insertions from the XIX and XX centuries, especially that ones related to the modern vocabulary, highlighting the most representative examples found. It also looked for understand how current preservation laws identify and protect them. The conclusion points out an absence recognizing initiatives as well as protecting those modern elements.
