O BIS e o mercado de balcão (OTC), o impacto da crise de 2007/2008 nas regulações: mais do mesmo ou uma descontinuidade sustentada?

Estudos acadêmicos destacam que negociação de derivativos no mercado balcão (over the counter markets -OTC) foram importantes causadores da crise financeira de 2007/2008. Este artigo busca analisar as regulamentações, publicações, e estatísticas do Bank for International Settlements (BIS) e do Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) após esta crise. Ênfase é dada ao mercado OTC. A conclusão é que as novas regulações têm sido incapazes de inibir o mercado de OTC, devido ao lobby das instituições financeiras para manterem estas operações. Os dados do Banco Mundial e do BIS mostram uma tendência de aumento destas operações, mesmo após a crise.
