Résumé

This article analyzes possible impacts and opportunities with the construction of bioceanic routes or corridors in South America, i.e. logistical infrastructure projects that aim to connect the coasts of the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, making it possible to transport cargo port-to-port by land. This shows how Brazil could overcomes its relatively unfavorable logistical position in the South Atlantic in the current scenario of trade flows increasingly focused on the Asia/Pacific axis. An analysis is made of the main export and import logistics flows and maritime routes in the central region of South America and, in addition, the study considers whether Brazilian ports would lose out in terms of cargo volume if there were the possibility of using railroads, highways and waterways linked to Pacific ports in other countries. Finally, the article discusses how the bioceanic routes could contribute to the processes of regional integration and deepening, economic development and the formation of a South American "common market".
