Anchored in a discursive perspective of Foucauldian strand, this paper aimed to describe discursive practices which constitute the teacher subjectivity that is currently exhibited on newspapers articles. The analyzed enunciative series is composed of 42 texts publicized on the Brazilian newspaper Uol-Educação and in the Education section of the Portuguese newspaper Público. The analyzed texts were collected between November 2022 and January 2023. By delimiting the corpus to two Portuguese-speaking countries, this paper sought to oppose the process of teacher subjectivation in countries of different continents and cultural realities. As concepts such as discourse, subjectivity, power and resistance were mobilized, the description of the analyzed texts statements demonstrated that themes such as entrance exams, innovation in education and relations between politics and teaching represent a thematic regularity in the analyzed series. Concerning the first thematic path, it was observed that the teachers’ voice was summoned within the enunciative thread of the texts, assuming a subject-position of authority. In the set of the analyzed newspaper articles, such practice of subjectivation is relatively distinct from the unauthorized and/or exploited position from which teachers subjectify themselves, when discussing issues of politics and teaching. This indicates the relationship between the devices and the referent of the enunciative function as determinants of such differences.
