Abstract

The Meia-Hora newspaper covers are known for their comic tone to disseminate the news. They have a complex formulation that requires from the reader prior knowledge of the subject in the headlines and / or familiarity with the linguistic forms that are used. The goal of this work is to analyze the discourse that appear on the covers of different times, different themes and verify the resources that the newspaper uses. Whether verbal, nonverbal, or both simultaneously.Altogether 6 cases were analyzed and a complex discursive web was found. To do so, the notions of the french Discourse Analysis will be used as well as concepts such as Speech Playfulness (ORLANDI, 1987) and Controversial Speech (ditto) and Image (SOUZA, 2001).
